Cover Illustration: Inflorescence of Calopogon oklahomensis (Orchidaceae), a recently described species from the midwestern and southeastern United States. Calopogon, a small genus of primarily wetland plants native to eastern North America and the northern Caribbean, has had uncertain infrageneric taxonomy and relationships. Most recently, the hexaploid C. oklahomensis has been hypothesized to be of hybrid origin. This plant, from a prairie in eastern Oklahoma, was unusual in bearing two flower buds at the same node. See Goldman et al.: Molecular and cytological examination of Calopogon (Orchidaceae, Epidendroideae): Circumscription, phylogeny, polyploidy, and potential hybrid speciation, pp. 707-723 in this issue.
