Data Supplement

Files in this Data Supplement:

• Appendix 1 - Species collection locations. All counties are located in California, USA. Species names follow Hickman (1993). Locations are given in UTM coordinates (NAD27).
• Appendix 2 - Correlation coefficients for pairwise trait associations. Values above the diagonal are for interspecific correlations. Values below the diagonal are for correlations among phylogenetic contrasts. Number of species (horizontal) or contrasts (vertical) available for calculating each correlation are indicated next to trait names. Abbreviations follow Table 1 in text.
